چکیده

Background and Aim: Antibiotic resistance occurs when bacteria can avoid the mechanisms of action antibiotic drugs, resulting in a reduced activity. This is dangerous for animals humans because treatment infectious diseases take longer may even lead to failure. Bacteria meat be cause meat-borne consumers. study aimed determine profile Escherichia coli from broiler slaughtered several local government poultry slaughterhouses East Java. Materials Methods: The 122 samples studied were pectoralis muscle broilers slaughterhouses. isolation identification E. confirmed using MacConkey agar eosin methylene blue agar, followed by Gram-staining, an indole methyl red, Voges–Proskauer, citrate test. isolates then tested Kirby–Bauer method, results interpreted Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines. Results: tests indicated that 44.26% (54) positive coli. demonstrated resistance, highest lowest, was erythromycin, trimethoprim, ampicillin, ciprofloxacin, streptomycin, cephalothin , tetracycline, chloramphenicol antibiotics with 66.7%, 61.1%, 59.3%, 35.2%, 33.3%, 27.8 %, 24.1%, 24.1% respectively. Of 54 isolates, 32 (59.26%) resistant ≥3 antimicrobials. Conclusion: found prevalence Java, Indonesia 44.26%. These all examined high very levels are associated multi-drug (MDR) (59.26%). presence human consumption illness, discovery MDR matter concern One Health approach apart having impact on health as consumers, it also have animal environment.
